Help Restore Online Public Comment at Douglas County School Board Meetings
ZOOM & VIRTUAL PUBLIC COMMENT UPDATE
Due to recent cost-cutting measures, the Douglas County School District chose not to renew its Zoom Webinar subscription, eliminating the option for online public comment during school board meetings. We Deserve a Better Board believes every community member deserves a voice in decisions made by the Board of Trustees. Public input—whether in person or online—is essential to transparency, accessibility, and community trust.

We felt this issue was so important to our members and the broader public that We Deserve a Better Board has already donated the full $1,600 to the Douglas County School District to ensure the Zoom Webinar service is restored. We are committed to keeping online public comment available in real time for those who rely on it.
Now, we’re asking for your help. If you value access to virtual public comment and believe in the importance of inclusive participation, please consider contributing to help offset the cost.
